Job Summary:
The IT Systems Lead for Finance Systems is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and optimization of all finance-related technology platforms within the organization. This role ensures the smooth operation, integration, and enhancement of financial systems to support core business processes, compliance, and reporting needs. Acting as the key liaison between IT and Finance departments, the role drives system improvements, manages projects, and ensures data integrity and system security across all finance platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
System Ownership & Strategy
- Lead the end-to-end management of all finance systems (e.g., ERP financial modules, budgeting tools, reporting platforms).
- Develop and execute the roadmap for finance system enhancements aligned with business goals.
- Ensure systems comply with financial regulations, data security standards, and internal policies.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact between IT and Finance teams.
- Understand and translate financial business needs into system solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, audit, compliance) to ensure systems meet organizational requirements.
System Integration & Optimization
- Oversee integration between finance systems and other enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, supply chain, HRIS).
- Continuously assess system performance and implement improvements.
- Manage system upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal business disruption.
- Project Management
- Lead finance-related IT projects from conception through to delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure service levels are met.
- Develop and maintain project documentation and status reporting.
Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise and mentor a team of system analysts or support specialists (if applicable).
- Provide training and support to finance system users.
- Ensure timely resolution of system incidents and service requests.
Data Governance & Reporting
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all finance systems.
- Support finance teams in delivering timely and accurate financial reports.
- Implement controls for audit readiness and compliance.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Oracle Financials, PMP) are an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems management, with a focus on finance platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial processes (AP, AR, GL, FP&A, treasury, tax, etc.).
- Proven experience leading system implementations and upgrades.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
