Data Engineer

Education Research Team,

NHG Group Clinical Education (Singapore - NHG HQ)

The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team to partner with clinician educators, administrators, the GCIO office, and Synapxe to develop and implement data pipelines for education-related data in healthcare. This will enable end users to implement machine learning models to gain data-driven insights for improving the education environment.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  1. Data architecture design: Designing data systems and pipelines for efficient data flow and storage in collaboration with service teams.
  2. Data pipeline development: Building and maintaining data pipelines (source to storage and processing systems).
  3. Database management: Managing and optimizing databases for data integrity, performance, and accessibility. Developing and implementing data checks for accuracy and integrity. Monitoring data integrity to proactively identify and address issues.
  4. ETL processes: Extracting, transforming, and loading data to prepare it for analysis.
  5. System integration: Integrating data sources for seamless data flow between systems.
  6. Collaboration: Working with teams to understand their data needs and providing analytical support.
Job Requirements:
  1. Education/Training/Experience:
  • Degree in Data Science or related quantitative fields (e.g., Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science).
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Python, R, SQL.
  • Experience in development or deployment of AI models is a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine learning platforms and services from cloud providers such as AWS.
  • Proficient in data visualization tools to develop and present interactive dashboards and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in developing analytics solutions (including data processing and statistical modeling) for large datasets.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey analytical findings to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare domain is an advantage.
