Job description

Detailed Description:

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Executes three to five-year plans & objectives.
  2. Maintains responsibility for development and execution of strategies for strategic and/or high-dollar commodity or group of commodities; focusing on quality, price/value determination, and timely delivery.
  3. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national or regional basis; may lead a work group or project team, or provide advice and guidance in area of specialty to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
  4. Sets tactical plans to achieve assigned goals within established professional standards, policies/objectives, and timelines; accountable for quality of work delivered.
  5. Effectively drives continuous improvements across all functions, leads problem resolution of diverse scope based on analysis of facts and data, develops short and long-term plans and solutions, updates/sets policies to standardize processes; resolves conflicts effectively.
  6. Builds cross-functional relationships and maintains positive rapport, using negotiation, persuasion, and tact to gain support from key suppliers and customers for the success of the organization.
  7. Establishes and drives strategic global bidding initiatives, ensuring all site interests are considered; supports worldwide product pricing strategy and process.
  8. Responsible for global negotiations of pricing, terms & conditions, and monitoring supplier performance to maintain supply continuity.
  9. Conducts strategic analysis on pricing, market conditions, suppliers, customers, competitors, and contracts, managing complex commodities in a dynamic environment.
  10. Ensures timely execution of commodity plans, supplier analysis, development, selection, quotation/contracting, and relationship management within established policies.
  11. Acts as the primary interface with suppliers for relationship management, contract negotiations, performance reviews, and business development.
  12. Tracks and reports performance metrics regularly.
  13. May act as site liaison to manage critical shortages, develop strategies on constrained commodities, and represent the site in related system changes.
  14. Assists in developing training plans and mentoring new employees.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the Semiconductor Industry.
  • Electrical Engineering background and/or qualifications are highly advantageous.
  • Deep understanding of AP culture.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, stocking programs, LT reductions, and supplier development is useful.
  • Proficiency in problem resolution and conflict management.
  • Mechanical Engineering background preferred.
  • Knowledge of global supply chain trends and their impact on strategic commodities.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and implement continuous improvements.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and take on dynamic challenges.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Duties may be performed remotely.
  • Extended periods of sitting and visual concentration may be required.
  • Frequent overnight travel is expected.

  • Work Location: 35 Marsiling Industrial Estate Road 3, Woodlands Ave 5, Singapore 739257
  • Working hours: 8am to 5:30pm / 8:30am to 6pm (Mondays to Fridays)
