We are seeking a Director, Business Development for our client, a data center developer expanding into Singapore. The ideal candidate will be in the forefront of identifying, evaluating, and securing new business opportunities to drive the company’s growth in the data centre space. This role will involve developing strategic partnerships, managing client relationships, and leading commercial negotiations to expand the company’s portfolio of data centre projects regionally.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and secure new data centre development opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with hyperscale cloud providers, enterprise clients, investors, and key industry stakeholders.
- Identify potential joint ventures, acquisitions, and partnerships to enhance the company’s data centre portfolio.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess emerging trends, pricing strategies, and demand forecasts.
- Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, including land acquisitions, power procurement, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, legal, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
- Drive the end-to-end deal process from lead generation to contract closure, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand presence and business opportunities.
- Prepare and present business proposals, investment cases, and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in business development, real estate, or investment roles within the data centre, cloud computing, or IT infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record of securing and managing high-value business deals and partnerships.
- Strong understanding of data centre development, including site selection, power infrastructure, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with hyperscalers, colocation providers, or enterprise IT clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen to evaluate investment opportunities. Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, driving and executing initiatives under pressure and tight deadlines.

- Willingness to travel as required.
