Business Function

The Consumer Banking Group Data Chapter is committed to building a data-driven organization and maximizing key data capabilities to transform how CBG conducts business. Data impacts CBG's operations daily, and fostering a culture of data and business intelligence will enable CBG to achieve exponential growth.

About the role

Lead a team of business analysts providing data-driven solutions to the Credit Card Business. The role involves identifying opportunities for business growth and helping meet KPIs through analytical insights and AI. Engage in strategy discussions with business stakeholders and senior management. Responsibilities include delivering data-related requests such as deep-dive analysis, simulations, developing Control Towers and dashboards. As a team lead, you will also handle resource planning and quantify value delivered. Your role is crucial as a subject matter expert to drive adoption of Control Towers for decision-making and promote learning through experiments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead data-driven decision making for the Credit Cards Portfolio
  • Understand credit card products and the consumer credit lifecycle—origination, activation, management, and retention/attrition
  • Understand various aspects of card payments and related processes—payment methods, channels, transaction types, etc.
  • Understand customer engagement methods—prospecting, click-through journeys, portfolio management, etc.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Risk, Regional, Finance, and Operations teams to develop strategies, build seamless customer journeys, and enhance customer experience.
  • Create impact for customers and the business
  • Utilize Data Driven Operation Model (DDOM) to maximize data value and drive business impact with product partners
  • Drive cognitive and automated banking initiatives through machine learning models and automation of control towers
  • Identify key trends, provide insights on performance and causality, and explore opportunities to deepen customer engagement
  • Be customer-obsessed by understanding consumer needs and preferences; analyze customer behavior; design campaigns/experiments to enhance engagement and marketing effectiveness
Requirements
Thought Leadership and Business Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) with 10+ years of progressive analytics experience and deep understanding of credit card products
  • Preferred but not mandatory: Experience in data management and analytics within banking, fintech, or financial consulting industries
  • Understanding of analytics strategies and models to ensure business readiness and applicability
  • Ability to engage in expert dialogues with stakeholders and product partners
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in data analytics techniques such as descriptive, predictive, prescriptive analytics, ML, and AI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly numerate with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in coding and data query languages
  • Preferred knowledge of statistical languages including SQL, Python, Pyspark
  • Optional: proficiency in data visualization tools such as QlikSense
Interpersonal Skills
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset; open to organizational transformation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts simply
  • Leadership and collaboration skills; capable of guiding teams and working effectively across functions
