Job description

What the role is:

As a Cybersecurity Engineer of the Cybersecurity Engineering Centre (CSEC) IoT, OT and IIoT Security team, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Lead in driving agile efforts to secure emerging technologies (IoT, OT, edge computing, threat analytics) supporting Singapore’s digitalisation initiatives, including Strategic National Projects (such as Digital Identity, Smart City, Connected Vehicles) and broader trends (Consumer IoT, Industrial IoT, Medical IoT).

What you will be working on:
  1. Conduct risk analysis and horizon scanning of IoT technologies to anticipate and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  2. Support cybersecurity research into relevant domains, identifying emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technological trends.
  3. Analyze complex datasets and security intelligence to extract insights, identify patterns, and develop recommendations to enhance IoT security and resilience. Evaluate security systems through testing, trials, and validation.
  4. Manage cybersecurity research projects, including scope development, timeline management, and resource allocation.
  5. Support the standardization of risk responses and develop governance frameworks for IoT/OT/IIoT deployments.
  6. Contribute to the development of innovative IoT, IIoT, and OT cybersecurity solutions.
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computing, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related fields.
  • Specialization in IoT/OT/IIoT is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, IEC62443 are advantageous.
  • At least three years of experience in IoT/OT/IIoT environments like manufacturing, energy, healthcare, or transportation.
  • Understanding of IoT/OT/IIoT domains, including secure communications (MQTT, CoAP, OPC UA), cryptography, industrial control systems, and SCADA.
  • Familiarity with security principles, standards, and frameworks like IEC62443, ISO/IEC 30141, NIST, CSA CCoP.
  • Awareness of key threats in IoT/OT/IIoT domains.
  • Hands-on technical skills and curiosity about technology.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with drive and capability.
