Our client is a local trading company specialising in FMCG products that are mainly from South Korea, Thailand, the Netherlands, etc. Their products are well-established in local supermarkets, and they are looking to hire a Sales Merchandiser to assist them!

The Sales Merchandiser is responsible for maximising product sales and ensuring that products are strategically placed to drive customer interest and increase sales. This role involves collaborating with sales teams, retailers, and distributors to maintain optimal product visibility, implement promotional activities, and analyse sales trends.

Reporting to: Sales Manager/Merchandising Manager

【 Responsibilities 】

1. Product Placement & Merchandising:
- Ensure proper display and placement of products in retail stores based on company standards and promotional guidelines
- Implement visual merchandising techniques to attract customer attention and maximise product visibility
- Organize and maintain stock levels to ensure products are readily available for customers

2. Sales Promotion & Execution:
- Assist in the execution of sales promotions, in-store displays, and seasonal campaigns
- Work closely with the sales team to implement promotional strategies and monitor their effectiveness
- Track and ensure timely execution of marketing materials, POS displays, and other promotional items

3. Inventory Management:
- Monitor product inventory levels to ensure stock availability and prevent stockouts
- Liaise with retailers or distributors to ensure product replenishment in a timely manner
- Track product performance and report on slow-moving or out-of-stock items

4. Customer Relations:
- Build strong relationships with retail staff to gain support for merchandising and promotional efforts
- Provide training and guidance to retail employees regarding new product lines and promotional activities
- Gather customer feedback and market insights to support sales strategies

5. Sales Analysis & Reporting:
- Collect data on sales performance, customer preferences, and product demand
- Report key performance metrics to the Sales Manager or Marketing Team
- Assist in analysing competitor merchandising and promotional strategies to improve effectiveness

6. Field Visits & Market Research:
- Conduct regular field visits to retail stores to ensure product displays meet company standards
- Monitor the competition’s merchandising strategies and provide feedback on trends or potential opportunities

7. Other Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure that the merchandising strategy aligns with overall business goals
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of promotional materials and products to stores

【 Requirements & Preferences 】
(Must)
- Diploma in Business, Marketing-related field
- Candidate who does not possess Diploma but has extensive work experience as a Sales Merchandiser in FMCG (consumable items) may also apply!
- 1-2 years of Sales & Retail Merchandising within the FMCG (consumable items) industry
- Familiarity with local supermarkets and comfortable travelling frequently to retail locations (islandwide)
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin are essential to liaise with English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
- Comfortable working in SME and family-oriented companies, and working independently
- Basic computer proficiency, such as for Microsoft Excel, is required
- Ability to lift, carry, or move products weighing up to 25kg
- Comfortable to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods due to the nature of the job
