The Assistant HR Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department in various capacities. This role involves assisting in the recruitment process, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The Assistant HR Manager works closely with the HR Manager to create a positive working environment and foster employee engagement and development.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Staffing
Assist in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
Coordinate and conduct interviews, as well as assist in the selection process.
Manage job postings and advertisements on various platforms.
Conduct reference checks and background screenings for potential employees.
Assist in creating and maintaining a talent pool for future hiring needs.
Employee Relations
Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related queries and concerns.
Assist in addressing employee grievances and resolving conflicts.
Support the implementation of employee engagement initiatives and programs.
Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
Performance Management
Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems.
Coordinate performance appraisal processes and ensure timely completion.
Provide support in developing performance improvement plans for underperforming employees.
Track and analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Training and Development
Assist in identifying training needs and developing training programs for employees.
Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
Maintain training records and documentation.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality and accuracy.
Payroll
Manage and process the company’s payroll system, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages.
Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
·Maintain and update payroll records, including employee deductions and benefits.
Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management review.
Supervision of HR Team
Oversee the daily operations of the HR team, providing guidance and support as needed.
Ensure the HR team meets performance expectations and delivers high-quality service to employees.
Conduct regular team meetings to address issues, share updates, and promote team cohesion.
Facilitate ongoing training and development opportunities for HR staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
General Administrative Support
Manage HR Documentation, filing and confidentiality of personnel records.
Contribute to planning and executing employee events, celebrations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial position.
Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
