A leading educational institution in Singapore is seeking an HR Manager to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the school's mission. The role involves managing recruitment, fostering employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, all while nurturing a positive working environment.
ACS Academy, established in partnership with Methodist Welfare Services, is Singapore’s fifth special education (SPED) school dedicated to supporting students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and who have no intellectual impairment and can access the National Curriculum (NC), also known as the ASD-NC student profile. As the first Methodist SPED school in Singapore, ACS Academy will provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment grounded in Christian values, upholding the traditions of the ACS family while delivering a holistic education that fosters academic excellence, character development, and essential life skills for future success, instilling in students a heart for service and a commitment to contributing meaningfully to the community and beyond.
The Manager, Human Resources exhibits a keen understanding of the school’s mission, vision and strategy, provides dynamic solutions using experience and data analyses (if available). He/she will provide consultation and coaching to the Staff together with the School Staff Developer, to support ACS Academy’s vision, mission and overall objectives.
Job Description
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall strategy of the school
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands grievances or other issues
Develop and manage the recruitment and selection process
Support current and future needs of the school through the development, engagement and motivation of the Staff
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems and procedures across the school
Nurture a positive working environment
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
Develop and maintain a pay plan including a salary scale, and benefits programme
Assess training needs and monitor training programmes
Report to the management team and provide decision support through HR metrics
Ensure legal compliance throughouthuman resource management
Job Requirements
Degree in Human Resources
At least 5 years of work experience as a HR Manager in a results-driven environment
People oriented
Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
Knowledge of HR systems and databases
Strong understanding of talent, competency and pay models, recruitment fundamentals, competitive market awareness and online/social media
Strong leadership, with excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the school
In-depth knowledge of labour law andHR best practices
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be discreet when dealing with confidential information
