Job description

Ventiva, Inc. is an electronic component manufacturer poised to launch its inaugural product into the active thermal management market. Ventiva’s solid-state air solution, ICE, is a groundbreaking advance over the previous cooling technologies used in electronic devices. ICE technology removes heat in small form-factors. It is an enabling technology for future electronic device designs where current thermal management solutions fail. It is silent, vibrationless, stable, and a solution capable of being designed into laptops, TVs, and more by the world’s largest OEMs. As we embark on this exciting journey, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven VP of Manufacturing to lead and drive the development and growth of our thermal solution products for consumer electronics OEMs. This position will oversee the manufacturing operations, particularly those outsourced to contract manufacturers in Asia, and be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality thermal management solutions. The role requires a combination of strategic oversight, technical knowledge of thermal solutions, and strong operational management skills, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, and executive teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier & Partner Relationship Management: They would manage relationships with contract manufacturers, ensuring clear communication, reliability, and adherence to specifications and timelines. They also work on ensuring the suppliers maintain the required quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Product Development & Engineering Support: Collaborating closely with R&D teams and OEM customers, the VP would ensure that the manufacturing processes are capable of supporting new thermal solutions that meet the specific needs of consumer electronics devices. This includes ensuring cost-effective, scalable, and efficient manufacturing solutions for complex products.
  • Quality Control & Assurance: Given the critical nature of thermal solutions in electronics, maintaining high product quality standards is essential. The VP would ensure rigorous testing protocols, quality checks, and supplier audits are in place to guarantee products meet all necessary safety, durability, and performance benchmarks.
  • Cost Management: Managing cost-efficiency throughout the manufacturing process is key, balancing between quality and pricing, and optimizing operations for profitability without compromising on product quality.
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Oversight: With manufacturing outsourced to Asia, managing the supply chain becomes critical, especially to address any challenges such as lead time, shipping, and customs. The VP would ensure a smooth flow of materials and products across borders while maintaining schedules.
  • Strategic Planning: The VP would also be responsible for aligning manufacturing strategies with the broader business goals. This could involve evaluating potential new markets, scaling manufacturing operations to meet rising demand, or shifting to new manufacturing partners.
  • Risk Management: They would anticipate and mitigate risks related to geopolitical issues, natural disasters, or supply chain disruptions that might affect the manufacturing process in Asia.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Advanced degree is a plus).
  • 20+ years of manufacturing management experience.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, customer-facing communication.
  • Excellent experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex supply chains.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and define key product metrics.
  • Experience working closely with CMs and negotiating cost and performance standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and work with customers directly.
