The role of the Manager in Community Partnerships is to support the Director in managing partnerships with corporate and individual supporters, specifically through donations, sponsorship, volunteers' activities, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events.
A major part of this role is to manage external communications and publicity activities for the organization. Another key responsibility is to manage the department and to coach, train, and motivate the team to achieve set objectives.
FUNCTIONAL
- Manage the Community Partnerships income and expenditure budget, ensuring alignment with the department’s business plan and fundraising strategy. Produce monthly reports and summaries.
- Oversee fundraising policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including submitting reports to IRAS, MSF, Charity Portal, and NCSS; administer correspondence; ensure prompt acknowledgment letters; and maintain accurate records of fundraising activities.
- Support the Director in managing the Volunteer Management program, including coaching and advising staff involved with volunteers.
- Review and support the maintenance of the SOP for the Volunteer management process.
- Familiarize with volunteer management software tools (e.g., Salesforce or others) and review their status to ensure departmental success.
- Ensure volunteer retention within the organization.
- Maintain and develop the existing portfolio of corporate relationships.
- Provide strong account management to support the organization’s benefactors retention strategy.
- Design and implement communication and contact strategies.
- Secure benefactors’ retention.
- Organize cultivation events throughout the year.
- Assist the Director in securing sponsorships for major fundraising events through developing pitches, grant writing, and researching potential sponsors.
- Represent Boys’ Town at external events, including networking, cheque presentations, and talks.
- Develop strategies for data collection and analysis regarding fundraising and promotional efforts.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by the Director or Executive Director.
MANAGERIAL
- Represent the department in leadership or project meetings.
- Represent the organization at external meetings when delegated.
- Communicate partnership-related briefings and announcements internally.
- Lead support in communications and publicity for the organization.
- Participate in governance and other committees as appointed by senior management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Business Studies, Community Development, Education, Social Care, Youth, or Social Work.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in VWO, NPO, or the social service sector.
