Job description:

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for project supervision of conversion and repairs of commercial vessels
  • Ensure work assigned is carried out effectively and productively in order to meet Shipbuilding and Repair Quality Standards
  • Ensure quality assurance on work completed to achieve delivery deadline and target
  • Briefing and Deployment of Workers (Sub-Contractor / Yard)
  • Inform other trades and Owner/Crew on X-Ray and Tank Pressure/Testing activities
  • Update daily deployment record and conduct toolbox meeting on safety highlight to work
  • Planning of Over Time for approval
  • Give daily target to workers (Shipbuilder and Welder)
  • Inspection of site work and readiness
  • Give technical advice to Chargehand/Workers
  • Preparation for VSCC Meeting
  • Highlight areas that need other trades to clear their work (e.g. temporary lighting, staging, removal of insulation, closing of access and etc.)
  • Apply for permit to work if any
  • Update job done into control plan
  • Resolve technical issues with Engineering team
  • Liaise with Owner and Surveyor to arrange for inspection (RFI) after job completion with Supervisors
  • Maintain safe working practices among his in-charge and both on-board and workshop

Requirements:

  • Diploma / NTC / Higher NTC in any Engineering field
  • Preferably 3 - 5 years of working experience in Marine Industry or similar capacity
  • Shipbuilding experience in welding and fitting
  • Possess SSSC
  • Able to read and interpret construction drawing
  • Able to use AutoCAD and do Material Take Off Lists
  • Experience in shipbuilding standards
  • Prepare to work long hours on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in MS Words and Excel for report writing purpose
  • Team player and customer orientated
  • Able to adapt to changes
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work in yard conditions (e.g. heat, dust and work at heights)

Other Information:

  • Location: 55 Gul Road (Island-wide transport provided)
  • 5 days work week
  • Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
