We are seeking a Senior Director, Sustainability, to be part of the management team responsible for leading the sustainability framework across all the business units within Singtel Digital Infra Co (DI CO), with a specialised focus on Nxera Data Centre. This role is expected to act as a change agent and subject matter expert for sustainability-related matters within the organization, working closely and leading other relevant departments such as operations, products, and strategy to achieve the organization’s sustainability aspirations. Beyond the organization, this role must advocate for sustainability initiatives externally to establish Nxera as a Green Data Centre leader; and to support the sales of greener offerings in the region.

Job Responsibilities

1. Develop and be responsible for the sustainability strategy of DI CO, galvanizing the various functions within the organization to achieve the collective goals.
2. Stay updated with sustainability industry trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic planning and facilitate discussions with key partners, including collaborating with the Group Sustainability function.
3. Manage end-to-end sustainability-related matters concerning energy, water, and waste across DI CO, building strong working relationships with other functional teams to integrate sustainability ownership and inspire positive changes across the organization.
4. Set up processes and controls for collecting, organizing, and reporting ESG information, including collecting, validating, calculating, and aggregating ESG data for reporting purposes for DI CO and the Group.
5. Own shared accountability of sustainability metrics (e.g., PUE, WUE, carbon emissions) with the operations team, ensuring visibility and accountability of the sustainability improvement roadmap, adopting industry best practices.
6. Collaborate with the strategy team on green innovation and partnerships with external entities such as IHLs, research units, government organizations, and technology companies.
7. Serve as the subject-matter expert within DI CO for developing sustainability opportunities and equipping other functions with relevant sustainability competencies.
8. Manage the total sustainability budget to deliver on the sustainability strategy.
9. Perform other relevant duties as assigned to support business growth.

Job Requirements

1. Possess a Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics).
2. Minimum 12-15 years of experience in a technical and/or sustainability domain, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within large facilities management or similar sectors.
3. Experience in leading cross-functional teams to develop sustainability strategies for ICT operations, especially data centers.
4. Knowledge of green Data Centre requirements, energy management, and sourcing.
5. Understanding of the Data Centre industry, operational concerns, and technical limitations.
6. Experience in environmental management systems and carbon management.
7. Strong project management skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
9. Strong understanding of the renewable energy landscape in the region.
10. Familiarity with environmental concepts like carbon footprinting and design-for-environment.
11. Preferred certifications: Singapore Certified Energy Manager, Green Mark Manager, ISO14001 series.
12. Knowledge of environmental and carbon reporting standards (e.g., CDP), sustainability reporting standards (GRI, SASB), and carbon accounting (ISSB).
