A leading company in Singapore is seeking an IT Project Demand Manager to oversee demand forecasting processes for IT projects. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders, resource allocation, data analysis, and continuous process improvement to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in demand management and strong analytical skills to forecast IT resource needs effectively.
• IT Project Demand Forecasting:
• Develop and manage demand forecasting processes for IT projects, including estimating resource requirements
• Demand planning: Identify and analyze trends within the business activity, then generate demand requests for new products and/or services.
• Budget planning and managing the team’s financial and work with Finance team on monthly finance allocation for resources.
• Plan and prioritize the execution of demand requests, efforts & estimates, and budget approvals based on strategic objectives and capacity planning. Align demand management with the organization’s mission while ensuring that the necessary resources and technology are in place to satisfy the demand at the same time.
• Provide accurate and timely IT demand projections to ensure adequate planning and resource availability for projects.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders:
o Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, and IT teams to understand evolving project requirements, resource needs, and timelines. o Ensure alignment between business objectives and IT project demand, facilitating clear communication regarding resource availability, timelines, and constraints. o Serve as the primary point of contact for project demand management, ensuring a smooth process for capturing, assessing, and prioritizing requests.
• Resource Allocation and Management:
o Monitor resource allocation for IT projects, ensuring the efficient use of internal IT resources and external vendors to meet project deadlines.
o Collaborate with project managers to adjust schedules and resources based on demand changes or shifting project priorities. o Work with leadership to optimize the allocation of technical resources based on forecasted demand. o Budget planning and managing the finance for the resources and reporting to Finance team and leadership.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
o Analyze past project data, business trends, and resource utilization to identify patterns and improve future demand forecasts. o Track demand management metrics such as resource utilization, project delivery success, and demand-supply gaps. o Provide regular demand reports to senior leadership, highlighting risks, resource constraints, and potential areas of concern.
• Process Improvement:
o Continuously assess and enhance demand management processes to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals. o Identify opportunities for improving the accuracy and efficiency of demand forecasting and resource allocation. o Work with IT and PMO teams to implement best practices and tools to optimize demand management processes.
• Risk Management:
o Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to resource shortages, misaligned project timelines, and other demand-related issues. o Support project managers in resolving resource conflicts and ensuring that critical IT projects are not delayed due to lack of resources.
Requirements
• Experience:
o Proven experience in demand management, IT project management, or resource planning in an IT environment. o Experience working with IT project management tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. o Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, software development processes, and the complexities of managing IT projects. o Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies is beneficial.
• Skills:
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and forecast IT resource needs based on project scopes and timelines.
o Experience in managing the budget and financials of the large team.
o Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
