Job description

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in the lab testing and new test development department. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department, ensuring timely and accurate test results under minimal supervision. You will assist in the design, execution, and evaluation of tests for new products, technologies, or materials. This role requires technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative testing solutions.

This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.

Job Duties:
  1. Assist in the development and implementation of new test protocols and procedures, support the execution of laboratory tests, ensuring accurate and reliable results, and collaborate with senior engineers and researchers to optimize testing methodologies.
  2. Conduct tests under controlled conditions, document findings, record and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  3. Utilize statistical tools and software to analyze data, generate reports, and present findings to senior engineers, offering insights and potential improvements.
  4. Ensure all testing activities are conducted in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. Contribute to developing best practices to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
  5. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing, to ensure testing aligns with development goals. Communicate progress and results clearly to team members and stakeholders. Participate in team meetings and provide updates on test status and development progress.
  6. Maintain thorough and organized documentation of all test procedures, results, and reports. Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations based on test outcomes. Assist in preparing regulatory documentation when needed.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant working experience of 1 to 3 years in lab testing, engineering, or a related field. Entry-level candidates with relevant academic experience are welcome.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions.
  • Familiarity with lab testing equipment and software, high proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with test development in specific industries (e.g., materials testing).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, ASTM), or hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrometers, or similar.
