Job description

Our client is a well-known Shipping Brand. Currently, they are seeking a qualified candidate to join as an "Assistant Manager (Line/Trade Management)."

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Monitoring vessel movements at sea and vessel activities when in port, including liaising with overseas agents.
2. Managing space control, over-booking, cargo selections, and handling customer requests for excess slots.
3. Updating vessel positions for both owned and partner vessels, and disseminating revised schedules to internal teams and clients.
4. Monitoring daily bunker consumption to ensure alignment with the Time Charter Description (TCD) and cross-checking with sister ships.
5. Reviewing bunker survey reports and verifying reported quantities against the master’s reported Remaining On Board (ROB).
6. Assigning third-party independent services as needed for the Assistant Manager level.
7. Managing daily correspondence related to vessel schedules, space management, and pricing with internal and external parties.
8. Preparing weekly operational reports.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in maritime business or business management.
2. 3 to 5 years of experience in shipping lines involving trade.
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments and stakeholders.
4. Willingness to travel overseas and work outside regular hours as required.
5. Independent, results-oriented, and strategic thinker.
6. Strong analytical skills to assess situations, systems, and problems.
7. Ability to make quick, data-supported decisions.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
9. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
