About the opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Backend Engineer (Golang) to provide quick and satisfactory service at our agents' fingertips, tailored to local challenges to resolve customer issues. The Agent Platform global team develops solutions for service agents across all DeliveryHero brands, including foodpanda, serving a diverse group of users including customers, vendors, and riders.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement features used across the global platform.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, driving holistic solutions.
3. Contribute to designing and evolving system architecture to meet current needs and support future growth and technologies.
4. Enforce coding standards and conduct thorough code reviews to maintain a high-quality codebase. Implement automated testing frameworks to catch bugs early and ensure software reliability.
5. Maintain a good understanding and independent application of cloud environments, CI/CD, testing, and validation.
6. Apply design patterns and best practices in reliability management, including resiliency, autoscaling, monitoring, and alerting.
7. Identify and resolve complex technical issues in software and infrastructure, continuously optimizing for performance and scalability.

What you need to be successful

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or practical experience.
2. Overall 4-6 years of experience in backend development with proficiency in Golang.
3. Hands-on experience with design patterns, principles, software architecture, algorithms, and automated tests (unit, integration, functional).
4. Understanding of microservices architecture and patterns, beneficial for designing scalable and maintainable systems.
5. Good knowledge of relational and distributed databases, including concepts like normal forms, ACID, isolation levels, indexing, and distributed database concepts.
6. Understanding of the development lifecycle and experience collaborating with cross-functional, international agile teams.
7. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across disciplines.
