Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing project management to ensure the safe, successful, cost-efficient, and timely delivery of multiple projects, including effective risk management and problem resolution.
- Ensure adequate resources and skills are assigned to projects; assist the Construction Director with recruitment, selection, and staff development.
- Provide guidance and manage risk, client, and professional expectations by early identification of issues through project reporting and meetings.
- Proactively set health & safety standards and culture for all assigned projects and take necessary actions to reduce safety risks.
Key Deliverables
- Responsible for the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
- Manage clients, consultants, and project teams to deliver projects.
- Ensure financial viability, on-time delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee tendering, site feasibility, contractor recommendations, and project handover.
- Interface with clients/end users.
- Ensure project team training and adherence to professional standards within time and budget constraints.
- Provide regular updates and reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage consultant performance and project costs, including tender documents and progress claims.
- Manage project handover processes with relevant teams.
Proposal and Pre-Construction Stages
- Attend tender meetings and prepare technical proposals.
- Review tender and contract documentation, plan pre-construction activities, and coordinate procurement and design workshops.
- Oversee development of project programs, method statements, and site mobilization.
Construction Stage
- Monitor site progress, address deviations, and manage project risks.
- Ensure proper documentation, procurement, and commercial management.
- Take responsibility for project profit and loss.
Completion and Post-Completion Stages
- Oversee project closeout, ensure proper handover, and manage defect rectification.
- Ensure documentation like Operation & Maintenance manuals are provided and project is formally closed.
- Conduct final inspections and submit project closure reports.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of construction processes, especially fit-out/refurbishment.
- Experience managing projects from design to completion, preferably at a senior level on large projects.
- Understanding of health, safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
