Black Utility Technician (8am-5pm, Mon to Fri)
General, Compliance and Manufacturing Support
Responsibilities
- Maintain reliable operation of electrical, instrument, Building Management System (BMS), and Non-GMP equipment.
- Partner with shift utility personnel to perform daily site walk-downs, logging, sample collection, and analysis.
- Monitor utility system performance in BMS and Delta-V; respond to alarms in partnership with shift utility personnel.
- Apply technical knowledge and hands-on support to troubleshoot equipment breakdowns or failures related to electrical, instrument, BMS, and non-GMP equipment.
- Support maintenance of electrical, instrument, and non-GMP equipment, including plant shutdown maintenance.
- Report abnormalities or emergency issues to engineers, line managers, or stakeholders. Support basic frontline troubleshooting/investigation to resolve problems or abnormalities.
- Assist engineers or line managers in deviation investigations using tools like Fishbone, Ishikawa, or 5-Why diagrams.
- Participate in data gathering and support the creation of spare parts and consumables records in Maximo.
- Coordinate with stakeholders/vendors for maintenance, projects, or repairs, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with SEM teams (Calibration, HVAC, Clean Utilities, Process Engineering, Validation, shift utilities) and project teams for effective execution of maintenance, projects, or troubleshooting tasks.
- Work proactively with minimal guidance in daily maintenance and operational tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- NITEC or equivalent technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Pharmaceutical Engineering; relevant work experience in these fields or in the pharmaceutical, GMP, or oil & gas industries is a plus.
- Quick learner with the ability to apply engineering knowledge practically.
- Strong communication, presentation, and comprehension skills.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to follow leadership directives.
- Flexibility to accept temporary assignments, overtime, including weekends, and other roles as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
