Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager, Public Relations plays a key role in driving Mandai Rainforest Resort’s public relations strategy. This individual will support media relations, Public Relation campaigns, influencer engagement, and issues management to enhance brand visibility and reputation.The role requires strong writing, relationship-building, and storytelling skills, along with a passion for sustainability, wildlife, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and regional media outlets. Proactively pitch stories and respond to media queries in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, speeches, Q&As, and briefing materials. Ensure consistency in tone and alignment with brand messaging.

  • Support the planning and execution of public relations campaigns and media events to promote the resort’s offerings, milestones, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Identify and coordinate collaborations with relevant influencers and content creators to amplify brand reach and storytelling.

  • Track media coverage and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations. Support crisis and issues communication with timely monitoring and response.

  • Work closely with marketing, guest experience, sustainability, and wildlife teams to ensure cohesive messaging and campaign integration.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry. Pre-opening experience would be useful.

  • Able to work and coordinate with contractors in all work-related activities.

  • Able to commit to after-office hours duties when required and/or shift work.
