An established industry player is looking for a qualified legal professional to join as their second in-house counsel. We are seeking a qualified legal professional to join as our second in-house counsel. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven lawyer to build expertise in the dynamic oil and gas sector while taking ownership of significant legal responsibilities.
Job Scope
Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements
Provide legal guidance on international trade regulations and compliance matters affecting the business
Develop standard operating procedures, guidelines, and documentation templates
Manage day-to-day compliance, internal governance, and corporate secretarial functions
Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on potential business impacts
Work closely with the Legal Manager who will provide guidance and mentorship
Requirements
LLB degree from a recognized university with admission to practice law
2-4 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)
Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team objectives
Experience and knowledge in the following would be an advantage,
o Trade and shipping law
o Familiarity with global sanctions regimes, anti-money laundering regulations, anti-bribery/corruption laws, and data protection frameworks
o Experience with international commercial contracts
