Job summary

A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Financial Manager to oversee financial management and reporting. The role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and engaging with stakeholders. Job description

Job Scope:

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., Charities Accounting Standard, SFRS).

  • Ensure timely month-end closing and accurate reporting of financial results to senior management

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and asset registers.

  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, regulators, and external partners including sponsors, donors, and sporting bodies.

  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support audit processes from planning to completion.

  • Preparation of annual budget and monitor budget performance.

2. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements e.g., Commissioner of Charities, IRAS, Sports Association and other regulatory bodies.

  • Prepare and file tax returns and other relevant statutory filings.

  • Support the preparation of board and committee papers relating to finance matters.

  • Assist in preparation of Annual report, Online Financial Summary and Governance Evaluation Checklist for submission to Commissioner of Charities

3. Grants & Donations

  • Track donations receipt and disbursements for annual submission to IRAS

  • Monitor grant utilization and restricted funds

  • Ensure proper documentation to be executed such as tax-deductible receipts etc

4. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.

  • Review and enhance finance-related SOPs for efficiency and risk mitigation.

  • Oversee fixed asset management and procurement processes.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work collaboratively with departments, external partners, and sponsors to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

  • Occasional support for events may be required but not frequent.

  • Engage with board members and subcommittees if required.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA).

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including experience in the Charity and/or Sports Association sector.

  • Knowledge of Charities Accounting Standard (CAS) and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience in accounting software QuickBook will be an advantage

  • Strong attention to detail, high ethics value, good analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently

· Proficient in both spoken and written English and Mandarin, and able to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders for Mandarin queries purposes.
