Job Summary

The Associated Director, GPO Support, Credit CoE supports the Global Process Owner (GPO) Delegate of the Credit & Credit Monitoring process universe for Client Coverage. The role holder acts as the Credit Origination Process Lead, serving as a first line of defence for the Business and leading the implementation and administration of a policies, standards and processes affecting or impacting the Credit Origination activities, across multiple Principle Risk Types including Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Reputational and Sustainability Risk, and Compliance Risk.

The role holder is expected to deliver significant improvement in frontline operational and risk culture and standards of excellence and embed appropriate mechanism to augment existing controls through a proactive review approach to identify indicators of process risk, enabling early action and minimise potential losses.

To lead the ideation on process simplification opportunities for Credit Origination processes and supervise the subsequent implementation of approved initiatives from a process implementation standpoint.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Support the implementation of business strategies and risk management in the frontline Credit Origination space.
  • Support and contribute to the broader Client Coverage risk management and process simplification agenda.
  • Function as champion within the Client Coverage organisation on Credit CoE objectives.
  • Develop and raise the profile of the Credit CoE team with Business and second line stakeholders.
  • Advocate a culture of frontline risk ownership within Client Coverage and the COO organisation.

Business

  • Support the evaluation and identification of process and risk implications of business strategies, projects and programmes, and provide guidance on any risk remediation actions.
  • Ensure process and system change initiatives are reviewed, impact assessed, refined and signed off for implementation.
  • Provide support to Coverage COO strategic initiatives and transformation programs ensuring global adoption of initiatives in line with Business Objectives.
  • Develop awareness of business changes, predict challenges and identify opportunities to optimise people & processes and add value to client & frontline.

Processes

  • Support frontline policies and standards implementation, simplification, and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to develop assurance mechanisms via the bank’s operational risk framework and RCSA process to validate effectiveness of policy/standard/controls implementation.
  • Responsible for working with third line to resolve any group specific issues and actions for Credit & Credit Monitoring.
  • Responsible for resolution of front office queries that arise in the Credit & Credit Monitoring processes.
  • Responsible for coordinating with stakeholders (CAs, CM, CPOs, R&C, business heads etc) across the region and countries, and to increase transparency and share key developments, learnings and best practices.

People & Talent

  • Oversight and development of the Central Quality Assurance testing team within the GBS Hub Team for credit origination processes

Risk Management

  • Responsible for identifying risks and instituting control framework and supporting the business across the globe in minimizing risks and losses.
  • Responsible for understanding and mapping out end to end Credit Origination processes and further identifying non-standard processes and assist to ensure appropriate control mechanisms are agreed and implemented.
  • Lead reviews of all proposed process and system changes to ensure any material impact is identified and addressed with a focus on multiple PRTs that touch the process including:
    • Credit Risk: Financial Analysis and BCA preparation, Excess and Past Due Management
    • Reputation and Sustainability Risk: Environment and Social Risk Assessment, Promoter Due Diligence, Reputational Risk Assessment
    • Compliance Risk: Appropriateness and Suitability
  • Build strong relationships with 2LOD across the Risk Types and support in the management of the Bank’s Risk profile.

Governance

  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to specified BAU operational risk deadlines, along with designing & maintaining RCSA framework and Top Down Reviews for front office Credit origination processes under the governance of the role across the globe.
  • Responsible for oversight centrally of GBS performed assurance checks (CSTs/KCIs) to ensure standardisation & consistency including continuous training and guidance to the team.
  • Represent the Credit Origination process matters at the Credit NFRC and other Sub refinement forums.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years’ experience in Credit origination, review, approval and monitoring processes, preferable in Credit Analysis, Proposal, Credit Risk management, Process Controls or Product Management/ownership of systems supporting the related processes.
  • Good product knowledges in either Lending, Transaction Banking or Financial products.
  • Familiar with various systems (e.g. Creditmate, SCI, CMS) supporting the process.
  • Strong risk identification and resolution with practical hands-on experience in delivering processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-focused with the ability to interpret large volume of information.
  • Good communication skills – oral, written and presentation.
  • Good skills in office tools - PowerPoint, Excel. VBA skill will be a plus.
  • In-depth expertise in the Bank’s Risk Frameworks / Policies / Standards, control, and governance.
  • Education - Bachelor Degree
