Job description

Job Description:

The National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate in the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The centre aims to improve population health and well-being and healthcare delivery by accelerating evidence-based practice through the use of behavioural and implementation science. More information on the centre is available at https://medicine.nus.edu.sg/bisi/. Appointments will be made on a 1-year contract basis initially, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The incumbent will work closely with the principal investigators (PIs) to support research in BISI and contribute to the centre’s research strategies. They will serve as the main contact point between staff, external parties (stakeholders, collaborators), and the PIs. The role includes acting as the main administrator for the PIs' workstream, collaborating with researchers and admin staff to assist with research projects, shaping and executing research agendas, ensuring timely project delivery, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with research administration to ensure compliance with institutional regulations and sponsoring agency policies, including preparing ethics (e.g., IRB) and other regulatory documents, and maintaining PI files.
  2. Support research activities led or assigned by the PIs, such as study management, monitoring budgets and timelines, and liaising with researchers and PIs.
  3. Prepare and coordinate progress reports for various audiences.
  4. Provide administrative support to the PIs’ workstream, including coordinating meetings, supporting visitors and staff, and managing calendars.
  5. Procure or acquire research materials and liaise with vendors.
  6. Assist with data collection or analysis as required.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

The candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Behavioural Science, Public Health, or related health/biomedical sciences.
  • Relevant experience in academic or healthcare settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of research ethics and HBRA is advantageous.
  • Experience in research project management.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Additional desirable qualities include:

  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.
  • Keen interest in behavioural and implementation sciences for research translation and communication.
