Job description

Job Summary:

Core work activities of this Accountant role include that of a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) role to focus on developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the Hotel’s strategic goals.This includes analysis of financial data, identifying trends, and making recommendations to improve financial performance, including process automation. Essentially, to translate financial information into actionable insights for decision-makers.Secondary activities include assisting the Finance Manager in the day-to-day Finance function.

Core Work Activities:

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting:Assist with the development and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans

  • Financial Analysis:Analyze financial data, identify trends, and compare performance against targets

  • Performance Reporting:Assist with preparation of financial reports and presentation slides to stakeholders

  • Scenario Modeling:Create and analyze different financial scenarios to assess potential outcomes

  • Business Partnering:Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions

  • Process Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy through analytical review, and automation

  • Ad-hoc Tasks:as assigned by the Finance Manager/Director of Finance

Secondary Work Activities - Assist the Finance Manager with:

  • Day-to-day operation of Finance function

  • Both Statutory and Internal Audit Function

  • Statutory related submissions and surveys

  • Working Capital and Cash Flow Management

  • Contracts Management

  • Licence Management

  • Insurance Management

  • Fixed Asset Management

  • Payroll process

Required Skills Set and Knowledge:

  • Numeracy – able to use mathematical formulas to solve problems, calculations, presentations etc.

  • Software – strong software skills, especially in Excel, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Opera

  • Analytical/Critical Thinking - ability to apply analytical review as part of daily finance duties; gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance / ACCA, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.

  • At least 3 years' experience in similar hospitality finance / accounting related role

  • Auditors with prior hospitality audit experience are welcome to apply
