Job description

Position Purpose

This is a casual role supporting Certis with Aviation Screener (Lobby) Operations across Sydney Airport. The officer will perform aviation screening on freight following SOPs and using screening equipment.

Workplace Health & Safety
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others.
  • Comply with health and safety policies, report hazards and incidents.
  • Follow health and safety instructions and do not misuse safety equipment.
  • Understand and uphold HSE requirements to ensure safety.
Key Responsibilities
  • Aircraft guarding – cabin, ramp, and tarmac catering access control.
  • Aircraft search procedures and aviation security reporting.
  • Screening procedures including SSSS’ selectees, random, and continuous passenger screening.
  • Contact Qantas Duty Shift Manager after shifts.
  • Perform physical searches, ETD examinations, staff training, and admin duties.
  • Report and escalate security and safety events.
  • Customer service experience is essential!
  • Complete Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) and demonstrate capacity for independent screening decisions during on-the-job training.
  • Immediate start for suitable candidates; flexible and 24/7 availability required.
  • Security Award Level 2 rates + aviation allowance payable hourly.

  • Desirable: X-ray and screening equipment experience, ability to work independently.
