Job description

Business Function\:

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning, and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in theareas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.

The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA) Approved Employer.

Responsibilities\:

• Provide accounting treatment, relevant accounting entries, and IFRS 9 monitoring.
• Perform all necessary financial controls for Treasury activities.
• Drive changes in current processes through data driven initiatives.
• Lead initiatives pertaining to system upgrades and new transactions, covering user testing to final implementation.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders on accounting issues.
• Support regional hedge accounting activities.
• Review hedge structures and the underlying hedge risks, market movements due to hedged risk, hedge effectiveness testing, controls around hedge accounting module, system input, accounting entries as well as related projects.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors on audit requests and matters.

Requirements\:

• 5 - 10 years' relevant work experience in product control / financial reporting / audit function for financial institution.
• Good understanding of financial reporting standards, especially IFRS 9.
• Understand how treasury products work and the inherent risk in each asset class.
• Possess working knowledge of accounting for treasury products.
• Self-starter, able to work independently and drive changes to the current processes.
• Good team player.
• Strong oral / written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Murex, PSGL systems, and dashboards is a plus.
