Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Piping Designer / Checker with over 20 years of proven expertise in piping design and execution across Oil & Gas, Offshore, and Pharmaceutical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading piping design activities, checking deliverables for accuracy and compliance, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution in line with project priorities and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead piping design and detail engineering for grassroots and revamp projects.
• Develop plot plans, equipment layouts, and piping layouts as per project requirements and international standards.
• Oversee 3D modeling and 2D drawing extraction using Intergraph S3D and PDS software.
• Perform isometric extraction, checking, and modification for FEED, IFR, and IFC stages.
• Coordinate with stress engineers for pipe routing and final layout approval.
• Review vendor drawings and participate in squad checks and model reviews.
• Conduct HAZOP, 3D model reviews, constructability walkdowns, and site surveys.
• Supervise and manage a team of piping designers and drafters; allocate tasks based on project priorities.
• Support construction teams by resolving RFIs, technical queries, and punch points during hydro tests and mechanical clearance.
• Review and finalize tie-in locations and connection types; prepare GA drawings and support sketches.
• Ensure compliance with national and international codes and standards (ASME, API, OISD, etc.).
• Participate in meetings with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to align on technical and project requirements.
• Monitor and close model review tags and maintain document control indices.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Over 20 years of experience in piping design, primarily in Oil & Gas, Offshore, and Pharmaceutical sectors.
• Expertise in piping software such as Intergraph S3D and PDS.
• Deep understanding of international design codes and standards.
• Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage small to medium-sized task forces and work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Certifications (if any):

• Certifications in piping design or software tools are a plus.
