SALES MANAGER, MICE

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore is seeking a Sales Manager, MICE to join our Sales & Marketing team.

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, is a sanctuary of luxury overlooking Marina Bay. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sales, the Sales Manager, MICE, will identify, develop, and manage accounts within group segments, markets, or territories, maintaining or increasing current group segment production to generate total sales revenue for the hotel.

About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, within the Sales & Marketing Department, the Sales Manager will align client needs with the hotel's sales and marketing strategies. This includes negotiating rates, maintaining excellent product knowledge, and identifying market opportunities. The Sales Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Sales, MICE.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect and develop new business through phone solicitation, customer visits, trade shows, sales blitzes, direct mail, research, and other customer interactions.
  • Drive and manage group production by fostering customer loyalty through excellent account management.
  • Determine client needs, hotel objectives, and marketing activities for each account.
  • Negotiate transient and group rates.
  • Communicate hotel benefits effectively to clients and maintain excellent product knowledge.
  • Understand and familiarize with the fundamentals of assigned accounts.
  • Identify new or existing markets/accounts aligning with property sales strategy.
  • Achieve all targets and goals set for your responsibilities.
  • Develop market intelligence, new product ideas, monitor competition, and track customer trends and performance.
Candidate requirements
  • Excellent sales, service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HMS, and Delphi.
  • Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within an international luxury hotel chain.
  • Minimum qualification: diploma in any discipline.
