Job description

The Manager will lead the IT department, managing both IT networks and applications to support the educational and administrative needs of the institution. This role strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all IT systems.


Key Responsibilities:

IT Network Management:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the school’s network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Manage network resources, including internet connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, and internal communications systems.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect school data and IT assets.

IT Applications Management:

  • Manage the selection, deployment, and maintenance of educational and administrative software applications.
  • Ensure seamless integration of various IT applications to enhance productivity and user experience.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the school’s website and online learning platforms.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Manage the IT department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to understand and address their IT needs.

Technical Support and Training:

  • Oversee the provision of technical support to staff, students, and parents, ensuring timely resolution of IT issues.
  • Develop and deliver IT training programs to enhance the digital literacy of the school community.
  • Maintain an up-to-date IT helpdesk system for efficient issue tracking and resolution.

Compliance and Data Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and school policies.
  • Oversee data management processes, including data storage, backup, and recovery.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and technology partners

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT management
  • Experience in an educational environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in managing various IT applications, including LMS, SIS, and ERP systems.
  • Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and data management solutions.
  • Experience with school management system such as iSAMs, Schoolsbuddy, Managebac, Seesaw and the like.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of IT professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with academic and administrative staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Location: Upper Bukit Timah

Working Hours: Mon to Fri (in school); Sat (half-day with flexibility to wfh)
