Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our construction team for a large-scale power plant project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical inspections related to the installation, testing, and commissioning of power plant systems, including piping, boilers, turbines, and associated mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Conduct inspections and surveillance of mechanical works as per approved ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), drawings, and specifications.
Ø Monitor installation of mechanical systems including ducting, piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and turbines.
Ø Review and verify construction activities comply with applicable codes (ASME, API, ISO, etc), standards, and project requirements.
Ø Witness pressure tests, alignment checks, and equipment installations.
Ø Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and QA/QC personnel to resolve non-conformities.
Ø Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, test results, and NCRs.
Ø Ensure safety compliance during inspection activities.
Ø Participate in punch listing and pre-commissioning inspections.
Qualifications:
Ø Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Ø Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector, with at least 2 years in power plant construction.
Ø Knowledge of welding inspection, pressure testing, and mechanical system commissioning.
Ø Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME I, ASME B31.1, B31.3, API, ISO 9001).
Ø Certification such as CSWIP, AWS-CWI, API 510, API 570, or equivalent is a plus.
Ø Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications.
Ø Strong communication and reporting skills.

Ø Combination of office and on-site work.
Ø Working overtime may be required, and working at a fast pace.
