Job description

About Us

Grandlink International (SG) Pte. Ltd is a fast-growing, globally active commodities trading company. With a strong network across oil, gas, metals, agriculture, and energy markets, we deliver end-to-end physical trading solutions backed by strategic insight, operational excellence, and solid market intelligence. As we scale our business, we are seeking senior-level talent who can not only trade, but lead.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Physical Commodities Trader with strong business acumen and leadership potential to step into a strategic role—with a clear trajectory towards or starting from a Business Director capacity. You will be expected to leverage existing relationships, develop new markets, and drive business growth, while taking ownership of both trading operations and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and expand trading opportunities by leveraging your existing portfolio of suppliers, clients, and trading partners. You are expected to bring and activate commercial networks to accelerate business scale-up.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Contribute to and implement business strategies in line with corporate growth goals. This role will evolve into or immediately assume business unit leadership responsibilities, depending on experience.
  • Trading & Execution: Lead full-cycle trading of physical commodities (oil, metals, agriculture, etc.) including deal structuring, contract negotiation, and execution.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring high service standards and repeat business.
  • Risk & Compliance: Oversee trade risk assessments and ensure compliance with international trade regulations and internal policies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain, operations, and finance to ensure seamless trade execution and business alignment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in physical commodity trading with proven business development success. Prior P&L responsibility or team leadership experience is a strong advantage.
  • Resources & Network: Must bring an established network of suppliers, customers, or trading partners. Ability to onboard immediate business is a major plus.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: Demonstrated ability to identify untapped markets and convert opportunities into business. Previous involvement in scaling a trading desk or launching new verticals is ideal.
  • Leadership Potential: Capable of evolving into a Business Director role, or ready to assume such responsibilities from the outset.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field. Relevant certifications in commodities or risk management preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities. High integrity and adaptability in a fast-paced, global environment.
