Job summary

A leading chemical company in Singapore is seeking an E&I Technician to carry out preventive maintenance and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the refinery or petrochemical industry. We welcome fresh graduates from relevant technical institutes to apply.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in the refinery, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficient in electrical & instrumentation equipment.
  • Good understanding of safe work practices.

  • Perform preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and process instruments.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Carry out preventive maintenance of electrical equipment (Motor, Variable Speed Drive, Switchgear etc.) and process instruments (Transmitters, Control Valves, On-Off Valves, Analyzers, Weighing System, Tank Gauging System etc.) in accordance to maintenance procedure and schedule
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Understand and be proficient working with electrical & instrumentation equipment, analyser sample systems and perform all preventive and predictive maintenance on these systems
  • Develop and review job safety risk analysis and maintenance procedures
  • Document and maintain all field observations and activities
  • Be prepared to perform call out duty or perform 12 hours day shift when required

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Higher Nitec/ Nitec in Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering or its equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in the refinery, petrochemical, chemicals additive industry or pharmaceutical industry
  • Possess hands-on experience in handling hi-tech electrical and process instrument. Those with knowledge on PLC, instrument analyzers and analyser sampling system (e.g. Ametek, Rosemount, Mettler Toledo, Siemens) will be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of safe work practices
  • Good analytical & trouble-shooting skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and with teams
