Job summary

Chevron Corporation on Jurong Island, Singapore is seeking an E&I Technician to perform maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and commissioning of hi-tech equipment.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma / Higher Nitec in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience, and is proficient in PLCs, analyzers, and instrumentation sampling systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Higher Nitec/ Nitec in Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering or its equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in refinery, petrochemical, chemicals additive industry or pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience in handling hi-tech electrical and process instrumentation.
• Knowledge on PLC, instrument analyzers and analyser sampling systems advantageous.
• Good understanding of safe work practices.
• Good analytical & troubleshooting skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and process instruments in accordance to maintenance procedure and schedule.
• Troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Understand and work with electrical & instrumentation equipment, analyser sample systems and perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Develop and review job safety risk analyses and maintenance procedures.
• Document and maintain all field observations and activities.
• Be prepared to perform call out duty or 12-hour day shifts when required.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Carry out preventive maintenance of electrical equipment (Motor, Variable Speed Drive, Switchgear etc.) and process instruments (Transmitters, Control Valves, On-Off Valves, Analyzers, Weighing System, Tank Gauging System etc.) in accordance to maintenance procedure and schedule
• Troubleshoot, repair, install, calibrate and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Understand and be proficient working with electrical & instrumentation equipment, analyser sample systems and perform all preventive and predictive maintenance on these systems
• Develop and review job safety risk analysis and maintenance procedures
• Document and maintain all field observations and activities
• Be prepared to perform call out duty or perform 12 hours day shift when required

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma / Higher Nitec/ Nitec in Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering or its equivalent

• Possess hands‑on experience in handling hi‑tech electrical and process instrument.
• Those with knowledge on PLC, instrument analyzers and analyser sampling system (e.g. Ametek, Rosemount, Mettler Toledo, Siemens) will be advantageous.

• Good analytical & trouble‑shooting skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work independently and with teams
