Job summary

Wetec Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based environmental engineering and instrumentation company, is seeking a hands-on E&E/IOT Technician to support our technical and project teams in equipment inspection, troubleshooting, servicing and site installation activities.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or related field, ability to read wiring diagrams, perform basic electrical checks, and work independently or with engineers, including outdoor/site installations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or related technical discipline.
• Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge are welcome to apply.
• 1–3 years hands-on technical, maintenance, instrumentation or field service experience is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuits.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and perform electrical connections.
• Comfortable using hand tools and electrical test equipment.
• Able to work outdoors/site installations and independently with engineers.
• Basic computer knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test incoming instruments and equipment.
• Assist with configuration and testing before delivery or site deployment.
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic instruments.
• Perform servicing and minor repairs of instruments, cables, and connectors.
• Assist engineers with testing and commissioning of monitoring systems.
• Support site installation activities: mounting, wiring, cabling, termination.
• Troubleshoot issues at customer sites and maintain records.

Wetec Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based environmental engineering and instrumentation company specialising in environmental monitoring systems, scientific instruments, data acquisition systems and customised monitoring solutions.

We supply, integrate, install and maintain instrumentation for applications including weather and climate monitoring, water quality, hydrology, workplace environmental monitoring, soil monitoring and other environmental measurement applications.

We are looking for a hands-on E&E/IOT Technician to support our technical and project teams in equipment inspection, troubleshooting, servicing and site installation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming goods checking, inspection and functional testing of instruments and equipment.
• Assist with equipment preparation, configuration and testing before delivery or site deployment.
• Carry out basic diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic instruments.
• Perform simple inspection, servicing and minor repair of instruments, cables, connectors and related components.
• Assist engineers with testing and commissioning of monitoring instruments and systems.
• Support site installation works, including mounting instruments, cable routing, wiring, termination and equipment connection.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system issues at customer sites.
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Use basic electrical/electronic test equipment such as multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
• Assist with checking power supplies, batteries, solar charging systems, communication cables and instrument connections.
• Maintain proper service, inspection and troubleshooting records.
• Prepare equipment and accessories for project deployment and delivery.
• Coordinate with engineers, project personnel and customers during installation and servicing works.
• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are properly maintained and organised.
• Follow company safety procedures and customer site requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation or a related technical discipline.
• Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge are welcome to apply.
• Candidates with 1-3 years of hands-on technical, maintenance, instrumentation or field service experience will have an advantage.
• Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuits.
• Able to read basic wiring diagrams and perform electrical connections.
• Comfortable using hand tools and electrical test equipment.
• Perform hands-on work and outdoor/site installation work.
• Able to troubleshoot technical problems systematically.
• Able to work independently as well as with engineers and project teams.
• Basic computer knowledge is required.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience or familiarity with any of the following would be an advantage, although training can be provided:
