BUSINESS EDGE PERSONNEL SERVICES PTE LTD is seeking a dedicated Science Laboratory Assistant for a fixed-term contract in Yishun, Singapore. The role supports science teaching by preparing resources, setting up experiments, and assisting with ICT equipment during lessons.

You will also manage yearly inventory of science resources, maintain storage, and ensure safety across two laboratories and the TinkerSpace.

Qualifications

Minimally ‘O’ level qualification.
At least 2 years of working experience as a Science Laboratory Assistant/Laboratory Technician.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent team player who is organised, adaptable and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

To prepare, organise and get ready resources for Science teaching and learning.
To assist Science teachers in the setting up of experiments etc. for Science lessons and/or activities including the preparation, distribution and clearing of resources after each Science lesson and/or activity.
To assist in the setting up and operation of ICT and Science equipment such as projector, iPads, dataloggers, and microscopes for Science lessons and/or activities.
To perform yearly inventory and stock taking of Science resources and equipment in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace and update inventory records accordingly.
To organise, label and maintain storage of the Science resources and equipment in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace.
To maintain cleanliness and assist in ensuring safety in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace at all times.
To assist in conducting simple Science enrichment activities such as showcasing the life cycles of selected animals and creative toys during designated recesses / Science school-based events to complement Science learning in the classroom.
To assist in the loan and yearly inventory and stock taking of resources in various Science Programmes e.g. Science Sparkles, E2K-Ignite Programmes, etc.
To assist the department in the feeding and maintenance of the Mealworm Beetles, Stick Insects Enclosure and other live specimens used for teaching and learning.
To carry out other Science-related duties as assigned by the Authority to support the effective functioning of the Science Department.
