Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD in Singapore is seeking a Biomedical Technologist to support health screening sessions in a campus setting. You will obtain consent, perform health assessments, and, after training, conduct bone densitometry and whole-body scans on participants.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Biotechnology, Biology, Bio-Sciences
• Some experience as a technologist in an X-ray facility is a plus
• Training is provided for those without experience

Responsibilities

• Obtain consent from research participants.
• Perform health assessments including anthropometry and blood pressure measurement when necessary.
• Perform bone densitometry and whole body composition scans on 20 participants per session after training.
• Review images and enter data accurately; flag anomalies for radiologist review.
• Analyse scans to derive bone density and body composition and upload to the database.
• Perform regular quality control and calibration and maintenance of equipment.
• Update inventory of consumables.
• Ensure safety and privacy of participants; report incidents if any.

Job description

Job Scope:

• Obtain consent from research participants.
• Perform health assessments including anthropometry and blood pressure measurement when necessary.
• (Upon completion of training) Perform bone densitometry and whole body composition scans on 20 participants per health screening session, keeping to the turnaround time per participant for that procedure.
• Review images and perform data entry accurately, noting any observation of anomalies. Flag anomalies on the scan images to the radiologist for determination of clinical significance.
• Analyse scans to derive the bone density and body composition accurately, and upload to the research database.
• Perform regular quality control and calibration procedures and maintenance of equipment.
• Update the inventory of consumables.
• Ensure the safety and protect the privacy of research participants by adhering to best practices. Reporting of incidents, complaints or adverse events.

• Some experience as a technologist in an X-ray facility a plus

• 5 days work week, no overtime, work-life-balance culture.

• Full-time work hours are: 7.45am to 5.30pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri; and 9am to 5pm on Wed.
