JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure Hotel guests have a comfortable environment and enjoyable stay, with total guests’ satisfaction, at Aloft Singapore Novena, and responsible for a smooth functionality of guestrooms, F&B outlets, and other hotel facilities of both properties, by instilling a culture of preventive maintenance in his team and efficient management and maintenance of the properties’ facilities and equipment such as the air-conditioning system, fire protection system, hot and cold water distribution and electrical installation.
*Night Shift Allowance - $10 per shift
Candidates with relevant experience may be considered for Senior Duty Engineer position.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the building facilities, Mechanical and Electrical equipment (M&E), Audio Visual equipment (AV), and plant rooms, for both in-house and out-sourced work, as per Hotel’s P&P.
2. Conduct routine M&E rounds and Metering in a duty shift with shift technician, and rectify any defects and also to carry out any assigned engineering projects, and report in Duty Engineer Shift Report.
3. Ensure smooth operation of facilities and services in a duty shift and attend work orders to guestrooms, F&B outlets and common areas with shift technician, ensuring all works and requests are completed within the Hotel’s P&P, to the operations and guests’ satisfaction.
4. Provide technical support and advice to Hotel guests and internal operations team for a total satisfaction and operational efficiency.
5. Ensure any emergencies and crisis in a duty shift are responded and handed according to the Hotel’s P&P.
6. Implement Green initiatives as per Hotel’s P&P, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
7. Perform supervisory or executive functions such as assisting in work related to the strategies / policies of the department.
ABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS:
Practical Experience and Knowledge
· At least 3-5 years in hospitality and/or building services,
· Good hands-on knowledge in M&E, preferable in Air-conditioning and Electrical
· Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
· Ability to analyse problems and provide feasible solutions
· Lead a team of shift technicians and willing to work on shifts and public holidays
· Able to work on shifts and public holidays
Communication Skills
· Understand hospitality business and customer-orientated
· Able to communicate well at all levels
· Good team leader and player
IT Skills
· Proven ability in using basic MS Office and operating PC
Personal Characteristics / Behavioural Traits
· Approachable, pleasant, friendly and sociable
· Possess good people skills
· Resourceful
· Patience in coaching staff and calm in handing crisis
