Job summary

Private Advertiser in Singapore seeks a DTP/DFE Artist to prepare digital print files, perform desktop publishing, and ensure color accuracy for various printers.

Candidates should have 2+ years in pre-press, a graphics diploma, and strong knowledge of Adobe CC and Esko workflows.

Responsibilities

• File Preparation: receive and prepare digital files for print production, including formatting and resizing.
• Desktop Publishing: create and edit layouts and graphics using Adobe CC.
• Image Editing: color correction, cropping, and resizing for quality output.
• Color Management: manage color profiles across printing processes.
• Proofing & QC: review files for errors before release to production.
• Collaboration: work with designers, account managers, and print teams to meet deadlines.

DTP/DFE ARTIST

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. File Preparation: Receive and prepare digital files for print production, including formatting, resizing, and converting files to required formats.
2. 2. Desktop Publishing: Utilize desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud) to create and edit layouts, typography, and graphics for print materials.
3. 3. Image Editing: Edit and retouch images to ensure high-quality output, including color correction, cropping, and resizing.
4. 4. Color Management: Manage color profiles and ensure accurate color representation across different printing processes.
5. 5. Proofing and Quality Control: Review and proof digital files for errors, ensuring accuracy and quality before releasing files for print production.
6. 6. Collaboration: Work closely with designers, account managers, and print production teams to ensure seamless workflow and meet project deadlines.
7. 7. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot file issues, resolve technical problems, and provide solutions to ensure efficient workflow.
8. 8. Digital Front End (DFE) – Digital Printing: Prepare, process and manage print jobs for HP Indigo digital printing using the DFE workflow. Perform artwork preflight, imposition, step-and-repeat, variable data setup, colour/PMS management, RIP processing and final file verification before releasing jobs to production. Work closely with Digital Printing operators to ensure correct artwork, colour, quantity and job specifications.

Software and skillset Proficiency

• - DFE/Digital Printing Skill
• - Experience with Esko software and DFE workflow
• - Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
• - Other desktop publishing software (e.g., QuarkXPress, CorelDRAW)
• - Color management software (e.g., Adobe Color, ColorNavigator)
• - Experience in Esko software and DFE workflow is preferred
• -Knowledge of HP Indigo DFE workflow will be an added advantage
• - Understanding of RIP, imposition, step-and-repeat and variable data printing (VDP)
• - Knowledge of CMYK, OGV, PMS/spot-colour matching and colour management
• - Knowledge in digital label printing processes is preferred
• - Experience supporting digital and Flexo printing production environment
