Description:
The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of aviation components between Unilode’s facilities, airports, freight forwarders, and customer locations. This role ensures operational efficiency by delivering serviceable and unserviceable units while maintaining compliance with safety regulations, local transport laws, and airport driving protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Aviation Components and Equipment
- Pick up and deliver ULDs, aircraft components, and freight between airport facilities, freight forwarders, and other designated locations.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring secure handling of cargo in line with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and serviceable/unserviceable labels.
Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance protocols.
- Report vehicle defects, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of Unilode vehicles.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure adherence to all local transport regulations, airport driving laws, and Unilode’s safety policies.
- Operate within Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, where applicable.
- Comply with airport security and clearance requirements for airside deliveries.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Valid driver’s licence (CDL-A or equivalent preferred, where applicable).

- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, pulling, and securing freight.
- Knowledge of airport driving procedures and security clearance requirements is an advantage.
