Job description

PMD is a critical function at IFA, we operate in multiple regions, on multiple projects. The unifying factor across all our content is that we aim for every show to make an impact. Our clients are many; Tencent, National Geographic, Netflix, HBO Max and WBD are just a few we work with.

The role requires fluent written/spoken English, working level written/spoken Chinese is an advantage.

  • Oversee PMD across a range of projects handled by the drama teams, on each project you handle, you will be across planning, development and production work from a production management standpoint.
  • You will work alongside the drama team and the IFA finance team to ensure IFA delivers budgets/cost reports/contracts all on time and to budget.
  • You will help to ensure that IFA’s team deliver drama shows on time and to budget.
  • You will act as the IFA representative to various clients in all things PMD, and ensure that you maintain and build strong relationships with our clients at all times.
  • Create project budgets and schedules at the development stage.
  • Create project budgets and schedules at the green light stage.
  • Oversee general contracting and licensing procedures.
  • Assign producers’ budgets to relevant producer/line producers on each project.
  • Oversee production teams’ management of approved budgets during production.
  • Visit to sets to review production as required.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure milestones are being met during production/delivery.
  • Approve/deny potential overages on any project in production with support of IFA partners and producers.
  • Ensure the production teams deliver project milestones on schedule.
  • Applies best practice to production and staffing spend to the benefit of the company.
  • Oversee production teams’ output of all project cost reports alongside Finance and producers.
  • Review project spending for development projects alongside IFA partners.
  • Oversee the monthly drama development spend tracker alongside Finance.
  • Take part in regular planning meetings, review ideas and contribute suggestions to our green light processes.
  • Liaise with client PMD and Biz Affairs on all contract, and budgetary issues. Review workflow with regard to client demands
  • Ensure that our internal processes for PMD are constantly improved.. Assist and advise the drama team on how to best deliver their projects on time and on budget.
  • Oversee deals and relationships with relevant suppliers, including our database of freelancers locally and overseas as well as negotiating delivery/schedule when necessary. Constantly review and improve our approach to contracting/managing suppliers/ licensors.
