Job summary

Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory Ltd seeks a Laboratory Technologist to join a team focusing on enzyme engineering and synthetic biology in Rhodotorula toruloides and Pichia pastoris. You will perform recombinant DNA workflows in E. coli and yeasts, conduct genetic transformations, validate yeast strains, and assist with general lab maintenance tasks.

The role requires a diploma or B.Sc. in biotechnology or microbiology, and a fast learner who is keen to build a career in biotechnology or food

Job description

We are looking for a Laboratory Technologist to join the team to work on the enzyme engineering and synthetic biology research mainly focusing on red yeast (Rhodotorula toruloides) and Pichia pastoris.

Responsibilities:

• Perform recombinant DNA workflows in E. coli and yeasts
• Genetic transformation and functional validation of yeast strains, particularly Pichiapastoris and Rhodotorula toruloides.
• Assist in general lab maintenance duties

Requirements:

• A diploma or B.Sc. in biotechnology or microbiology
• A fast learner with keen interest to develop a career path in biotechnology or food technology
