Summary:

Covaris is seeking a dynamic and strategic Export & Distribution Manager to oversee distributor management in the Asia Pacific region. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of business acumen, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the biotechnology landscape. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive business expansion, foster strategic partnerships, and contribute to Covaris' mission of empowering scientific breakthroughs worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Distributor Management:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive distributor management strategies for countries in APAC region, ensuring alignment with Covaris' overarching business objectives.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners, fostering collaborative relationships and driving mutual growth.

  • Provide ongoing support, training, and resources to distributors to optimize sales performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor distributor performance metrics, analyze market trends, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and expansion.

Market Development and Expansion:

  • Identify emerging market opportunities, competitive threats, and regulatory challenges within APAC, and develop strategies to address them.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product management teams to develop targeted marketing campaigns, promotional materials, and product launches tailored to regional market dynamics.

  • Represent Covaris at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility, generate leads, and cultivate strategic partnerships.

Strategic Planning and Reporting:

  • Contribute to the development of annual business plans, sales forecasts, and budgetary targets for the APAC regions, in alignment with Covaris' global sales strategy.

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

  • Conduct periodic business reviews with distribution partners to evaluate performance against targets, address challenges, and align on future growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in roles directly relevant to the biotechnology, life sciences (genomics or proteomics) industry.

  • Proven track record of success in distributor management and direct sales within the biotechnology, proteomics, or life sciences industry, with a focus on APAC and India regions.

  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, and other sales enablement tools.

  • Fluency in English; additional language proficiency (e.g., Japanese, Korean or Chinese) is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

  • Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to ensure seamless collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders across different time zones.

  • The position is field-based covering Asia Pacific.
