Job summary

Xiaomi Technology in Singapore is seeking a Computer Software Engineer to join its Database & Storage Infrastructure team to support distributed database and storage platforms. You will design, develop, test, and optimize software for large-scale systems, collaborate with hardware engineers, and contribute to monitoring, capacity planning, and incident response.

The role requires strong programming skills and experience with MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, and related technologies, along with Mandarin

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, Programming & Systems Analysis, Science (Computer Studies) or Software Engineering.
Proficient in Go, Java, Python or Rust with strong data structures and algorithms.
Strong TCP/IP, OS, networking, databases, and computer architecture knowledge.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English with regional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Research, design, and develop software to manage large-scale database and storage systems.
Analyze requirements and develop solutions using computer science, engineering and math.
Update software, enhance capabilities, and direct testing and validation for database services.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate systems and meet performance specs.
Build tooling for monitoring, capacity planning, backup, and incident response.
Participate in on-call rotations and production incident remediation.
