Job description

The Opportunity: We are seeking diligent and reliable Dishwashers / Stewards to join our essential Back-of-House team at the newly revitalized 1939. You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness across our kitchen and service areas, directly contributing to the smooth operation of our multi-concept venue. Key Responsibilities:

  • Dishwashing: Operate commercial dishwashing machines and/or hand wash all dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils quickly and thoroughly.
  • Kitchen & Area Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, walls, and equipment. Sweep and mop floors as needed.
  • Equipment Care: Ensure all kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, stoves, counters) is cleaned and sanitized according to established schedules and standards.
  • Waste Management: Manage waste disposal and recycling effectively, ensuring bins are emptied regularly.
  • Stock Organization: Assist in organizing and storing clean dishes, equipment, and supplies in their proper locations.
  • Support & Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary and service teams to ensure a continuous flow of clean items, supporting overall operational efficiency.
  • Adherence to Standards: Comply strictly with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (SFA guidelines).

Skills & Qualifications:

  • No prior experience is necessary; a positive attitude and willingness to work hard are key.
  • Ability to work efficiently and reliably in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail regarding cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good physical stamina, capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy items as required.
