Job description

The Director, Strategic Quality, is responsible for driving the development and deployment of critical applications to enhance Quality and Strategic initiatives globally. This includes leading the Quality & Operations Digitalisation strategy, Quality solutions, and Advanced technologies initiatives. The primary focus is to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction internationally, as reflected by defined Quality KPI measures and Customer Scorecards. Additionally, the Director fosters a Total Quality mindset culture across operations, design, and supplier networks globally, ensuring consistent quality standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all AE factories.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Quality Modernization/Digitalization Strategy
  • Builds a global operations control tower and integrated system to manage line performance, maintenance, downtime, and quality performance in real-time dashboards.
  • Launches Predictive Quality Control in all the BIG 5 factories.
  • Implements Preventive Maintenance Strategies for critical equipment.
  • Enhances shop floor traceability system setup and data mining across all production facilities.
  • Quality Strategy Initiatives
    • Deploys standard best practices in operations & quality in AE’s factories, managing and driving continuous improvement.
    • Develops & deploys Smart and Poka-Yoke manufacturing solutions globally, such as Smart Assembly, Smart Screwdriver, and other latest Industry 4.0 technologies.
    • Leads the deployment of Auto Visual Inspections to improve quality and efficiency across all production facilities.
    • Builds an effective Problem-Solving program and culture, fostering collaboration across diverse teams.
    • Continuously evolves a globally unified “Process Design Rule Book” with best practices, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Test Problem Solving Initiatives
    • Drives test significance and automation on a global scale, ensuring consistency and reliability in diverse markets.
    • Establishes Test strategy framework alignment and Data readiness across AE’s factories.
    • Launches Predisys SPC across AE’s factories to optimize manufacturing quality.
    • Enhances test development, compliance, and validation through global frameworks.
  • Component Failure Analysis (CFA) Management
    • Manages and leads global CFA operations, supporting worldwide demand.
    • Ensures timely and quality analysis with global benchmarks, driving operational excellence.
    • Manages technical teams and expert pools supporting CFA operations.
    • Develops and manages the Capabilities Roadmap and Investment Plan strategically.
    • Drives test significance within AE’s framework for continuous improvement.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 10+ years of relevant experience in Quality and Quality Improvement.
    • Strong experience in Quality functions, including standards, auditing, measurement systems, problem analysis, and problem solving.
    • Extensive experience in the semiconductor industry, including managing crisis events with senior stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders for quality improvements and specifications.
    • Experience in leading quality improvement projects within a global organization.
    • Conflict management skills.
    • Experience leading change initiatives with significant organizational impact.
    • Proven track record of building high-performing teams and leading diverse groups, including leading without direct control.
