Job Title: Director/Senior Director | Lead Environmental Social & Governance (ESG), Real Estate

Job Description Summary

DESCRIPTION: C&W participates across the value chain for ESG regionally (advisory to implementation), with C&W India primarily servicing clients on implementation and selective advisory. The team seeks a Lead to build this practice locally and potentially establish an ESG Centre of Excellence for the APAC region.

The ESG Lead should possess expertise in governance, environmental, and social issues, along with a strong understanding of ESG's impact on business, investments, and processes. The candidate will provide consultancy services to clients, creating and implementing ESG solutions.

The role requires a commercially astute and innovative approach to ESG assessment methodology, team building, and delivering sustainability & ESG solutions across asset classes.

Focus Area

ESG Lead with experience in establishing ESG teams and leadership roles in Big-4 firms preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Develop a business portfolio focusing on high-impact opportunities, creating and delivering ESG strategies and sustainability services.
2. Identify and develop business opportunities, building valued relationships with clients and internal teams.
3. Manage relationships with external clients, including fund and asset managers, executive teams, and sustainability functions.
4. Execute client engagements related to ESG reporting.
5. Develop new methodologies in coordination with global teams.
6. Oversee client service delivery adhering to quality guidelines and methodologies.
7. Hire, train, and manage the team responsible for business pitches.
8. Partner with vendors to offer business solutions.
9. Support industry engagement through conferences and industry groups, establishing thought leadership.
10. Lead an internal ESG team and coordinate with external partners to meet client requirements.
11. Assist clients in setting ESG strategies and transforming their businesses, staying updated on trends and developments.

Selection Criteria

Strong knowledge of global ESG standards, social responsibility, impact investing, and financial materiality.

Qualifications: Degree in science, engineering, data analytics, accounting, or related fields; certifications in ESG science are desirable. Candidates should have a passion for sustainability and ESG topics.
