As a regional sales and marketing director, you will be responsible for developing sales within your assigned geographic area, managing both direct and indirect sales and technical marketing for our CAD/CAM solutions specialized in the mold and die business. This role involves managing a team of sales representatives and technical support engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions and services that meet customer requirements and align with business objectives and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales growth: Achieve growth and meet sales targets by managing revenue in Asia. Present sales, revenue, and expense reports, along with realistic forecasts to management. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and establishing trust quickly.
- Strategic business planning: Design and implement a strategic plan to expand the customer base and ensure a strong presence in Asia. Identify emerging markets and market shifts, stay informed about new solutions and competition, and adjust strategies accordingly to ensure profitability.
- Team Management: Set objectives, coach, and monitor the performance of sales and technical teams, resellers, and partners within the region. Manage daily activities, delegate tasks, and ensure team efficiency.
- Recruitment and Employee Development: Lead recruitment and onboarding for new team members and provide ongoing training and career development opportunities.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and set goals to foster a high-performance culture and growth opportunities for team members.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and deliverables.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, business, or marketing.
- Experience: Over 15 years of experience in the CAD/CAM business in Asia, managing sales, field marketing, and technical teams across multiple countries. Strong experience in complex sales negotiations, ideally within mold and die markets, and in multicultural, international companies.
- Languages: Fluent in English and at least one other language spoken in Asia.
- Sales and Marketing Skills: Proven ability to engage with key decision-makers, close sales, and craft technical marketing messages for the mold, tool, and die community. Active engagement with local media relevant to this community.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain relationships across stakeholders.
- Management Skills: Experience in staffing, performance management, motivation, conflict resolution, and driving results. Skilled in decision-making, process improvement, and leadership.
- Delegation: Ability to delegate effectively, set clear expectations, and monitor delegated activities, recognizing team achievements.
