Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

The Director, Reputation & Engagement, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Asia Pacific is a leadership role in our Asia Pacific IM Communication & Public Affairs Team. The role is responsible for engaging our ~5,000 employees across Asia Pacific, supporting the Company Group Chairman for Asia Pacific and the Leadership Team, and managing our regional corporate reputation. The role reports to the Vice President of Communication & Public Affairs and leads one of three regional Centers of Excellence.

The role will:

  1. Lead Employee Engagement:
    • Develop and execute employee engagement campaigns to inspire results.
    • Create targeted strategies for different audiences in the region.
    • Use metrics and surveys to measure impact and improve initiatives.
    • Foster ongoing engagement points and employee ambassador programs.
    • Promote a culture of impactful work and work-life balance within the team.
  2. Provide Strategic Counsel and Executive Communication:
    • Advise the CGC on engagement and communication issues.
    • Manage regional internal and external executive communications.
    • Prepare speeches and presentations for the CGC.
    • Enhance online presence of the CGC and APLT members.
    • Identify external opportunities for the CGC to shape the business environment.
    • Support engagement with NGOs and government stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with strategy and other teams to support leadership.
    • Oversee major meetings and events.
  3. Drive External Reputation:
    • Lead initiatives to shape external market presence.
    • Manage digital, social media, and media monitoring efforts.
    • Share insights and metrics to inform future programs.
    • Align with global reputation strategies.
  4. Lead Community of Practice:
    • Guide and support regional team members in reputation & engagement practices.
    • Manage one Senior Manager directly.
    • Ensure alignment across markets and with enterprise strategies.
  5. Represent Asia Pacific:
    • Engage with global teams and forums.
    • Foster a unified “one team” culture.
    • Support talent development and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years in corporate communications, preferably in healthcare or policy.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of Asia Pacific media landscape.
  • Experience leading cross-cultural teams and managing multiple projects.
  • Proven leadership, project management, and crisis management skills.
  • Experience with budget and agency management.
