A leading IT solutions company is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead and mentor a team within the banking and finance sector. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience, expertise in managing complex initiatives, and a strong grasp of the software development life cycle. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects while ensuring team growth and adherence to governance standards.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and manage a team of Project Managers within the respective applications, ensuring effective project execution and professional development of the team members.
Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business& Ensure the program is aligned to and supports strategic objectives
Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes.
Oversee the execution of high-priority programs, monitoring progress, budgets, and risks to ensure successful outcomes.
Assist IT leadership in developing annual work and resource plans
Collaborate with IT partners to identify and support technology-driven innovation initiatives; Work closely with stakeholders to facilitate MVP, including deployment, testing, and validation.
Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and engaging vendors to assess the suitability of new solutions.
Continually manage stakeholders expectations through governance processes & Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication
Provide status reporting to the management regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies and communicating across leadership and relevant project stakeholders.
Understand interdependencies between technology and business needs; Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent, at least 15+ years of experience preferably with exposure in Banking and Finance industry and Technology environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Experience in system development work with prior experience in functional, technical specifications and system development
Strong understanding and experience in software development cycle (Waterfall or Agile best practices)
Strong negotiation skills and vendor project management skillswith experience in vendor product management will be an added advantage
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Full end to end project management in a lead role
